Curved Stairlifts
If your
staircase has a number of bends and corners and you want to install a
stairlift, you should go for a curved stairlift. It is true that you have to
spend more on curved stairlifts compared to straight stairlifts but they can safely transit you with
bends. The rail that is being used for the curved stairlift, is custom-made and
designed to meet the specifications of the staircase. Sometimes, the rail of
the curved stairlift is made with few separate pieces to fit with the staircase
design of the flat. This is because these types of stairlifts are more
complicated compared to others and they also require more time to be
installed.
Straight stairlifts
Straight
stairlifts mainly work on such staircases that are straight without any turns
or bends. According to experts, straight stairlifts will cost less compared to
the curved stairlifts due to simplicity. Straight stairlifts are easier to
install. Straight stairlifts mainly stop level with the top of the last step.
They don't curve while landing because they function on a single track. If your
flat has a narrow staircase, installing the straight stairlift will be best and
it will meet your requirement.
If you want
partial landing for your stairlifts, there are mainly two options available.
First, you have to install two straight staircases on each side of the partial
landing. Second, you can install a single curved track which goes the length of
the staircases. This is the best option if the user is not able to move from
one station to another.
